18 January. President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov meets with the First Deputy Prime Minister of Russian Federation Igor Shuvalov at the Oqsaroy.

10-12 February. President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov pays state visit to the Republic of Korea. During the negotiations between the heads of state and with the participation of official delegations of the two countries, the main focus is on trade, economic, investment and humanitarian cooperation. Following the talks in Seoul, the sides ink a range of bilateral documents covering investment cooperation, development of alternative energy sources and power saving technologies, construction of Ustyurt gas and chemical complex and other spheres.

19 February. President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov at the Oqsaroy meets with Richard Holbrooke, United States Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan.

4 March. The three newly appointed ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary – of Kazakhstan, Turkey and South Korea to Uzbekistan – grant credentials of their mission to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov at the Oqsaroy.

16-17 March. President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev is in Uzbekistan on official visit. The two leaders discuss the current state and prospects of bilateral relations, cooperation within international organizations, as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest. Following the negotiations, intergovernmental agreements programs of cooperation are signed.

31 March. President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov meets with Sergey Ivanov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, at the Oqsaroy.

5 April. President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov welcomes Ban Ki-moon, Secretary General of the United Nations, at the Oqsaroy. Following the meeting between President Islam Karimov and Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, Joint Declaration on Cooperation between Secretariats of the United Nations and Shanghai Cooperation Organization is signed.

6 April. At the Oqsaroy, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov meets with David H. Petraeus, Commander of United States Central Command.

19-20 April. President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov is on official visit in Russia at the invitation of President Dmitriy Medvedev. During the talks, further expansion of Uzbek-Russian cooperation, including those within international organizations, regarding regional and international issues, those directed at weathering the impact of global financial and economic crisis.

23 April. Islam Karimov, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, meets with secretaries of security councils of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states, SCO Secretary General Muratbek Imanaliyev, and Director of SCO RATS Executive Committee Dzhenisbek Dzhumanbekov, at the Oqsaroy.

23 April. President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov meets with Meng Jianzhu, Member of State Council, Minister of Public Security of the People's Republic of China, at the Oqsaroy.

3 May. At the Oqsaroy, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov meets with Xie Xuren, Minister of Finance of the People’s Republic of China.

3 May. President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov welcomes Japan’s Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance Naoto Kan at the Oqsaroy.

4 May. At the Oqsaroy, President Islam Karimov meets with Secretary General of World Customs Organization Kunio Mikuriya.

4 May. President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov at the Oqsaroy meets with Minister of Strategy and Finance of the Republic of Korea Yoon Jeung-Hyun.

21 May. President Islam Karimov at the Oqsaroy meets with Yang Jiechi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China.

22 May. At the Oqsaroy, President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov meets with participants of the meeting of Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states.

7 June. President of the Republic Islam Karimov at the Oqsaroy meets with Vladimir Rushaylo, Russia’s Special Representative for the Development of Relations with Kyrgyz Republic.

9 June. At the invitation of President Islam Karimov, President of the People’s Republic of China Hu Jintao arrives in our country on state visit. During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on a wide range of issues related to bolstering the Uzbek-Chinese relations, as well as regional and international topics.

10 June. President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov at the Kuksaroy complex meets with President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Mongolia Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj, who are in Tashkent to attend the summit of Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

11 June. The summit of Shanghai Cooperation Organization opens in Tashkent with a meeting of the heads of member states. The session in enlarged format, along with leaders of member nations, is attended by heads of observer countries, honorary guests, as well as representatives of regional and international organizations.

11 June. At the Kuksaroy complex, President Islam Karimov holds bilateral talks with presidents of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Republic of Tajikistan, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of India, who are attending the summit of Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Tashkent.

16 June. President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov holds a telephone conversation with United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. During the talk, the Uzbek leader briefs the United States head on the outbreak of violence in southern Kyrgyzstan.

17 June. President Islam Karimov speaks with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on the phone, during which President Karimov and Secretary Clinton discuss the latest tragic events in southern Kyrgyzstan.

18 June. In order to make an on-site assessment of ongoing socio-economic reforms and renovative work, President Islam Karimov visits Bukhаrа region. During his conversation with local farmers, the head of state also speaks about the tragic events in Osh and Jalalabad regions of Kyrgyz Republic.

6 July. President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov receives credentials fr om newly appointed Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia, Arab Republic of Egypt and the French Republic – Mohamad Asruhin, Muhammad Abdulqadir al-Hashshab and Franзois Gauthier, respectively.

15 July. President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov at the Oqsaroy meets with Vice Chancellor of Federal Republic of Germany, Minister of Foreign Affairs Guido Westerwelle.

17 July. At the Oqsaroy, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov meets with United States Deputy Secretary of State James Steinberg.

8 August. President Islam Karimov welcomes Katsuya Okada, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, at the Oqsaroy.

20 September. President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov attends the United Nations General Assembly session on Millennium Development Goals in New York at the invitation of UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, and places a particular emphasis on the most pressing regional issues in Central Asia and those related to national development in Uzbekistan.

20 September. At the UN headquarters in New York, President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov holds talks with United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.

21 September. At the United Nations headquarters in New York, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov meets with Angela Merkel, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany.

21 September. President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov at the UN Headquarters meets with Yves Leterme, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Belgium.

21 September. President Islam Karimov holds talks with President of Hungary Pal Schmitt at the UN Headquarters in New York.

27 September. At the Kuksaroy residence, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov welcomes President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev who arrived in Tashkent on official visit. The two leaders exchange views on the current state and prospects of bilateral relations, discuss the cooperation between the two countries within international organizations, issues of regional and international significance, as well as many other topics of mutual interest. A joint declaration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and President of Azerbaijan Republic was signed, as well as a number of other documents aimed at boosting the bilateral cooperation in various areas.

7 October. Islam Karimov, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, meets with Taleb D. Rifai, Secretary General of World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) at the Oqsaroy.

19-20 October. President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov pays official visit to Turkmenistan at the invitation of that country’s President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov. During the negotiations, the heads of state go through an exchange of views on a wide range of issues pertaining to Uzbek-Turkmen relations, regional and international topics of mutual interest. Following the talks, an Uzbek-Turkmen joint statement and an intergovernmental program of cooperation in cultural and humanitarian sphere for 2011-2013, are signed. Presidents Islam Karimov and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also visited the city of Dashoguz, wh ere an Uzbek-Turkmen Friendship Festival gathered over 300 artists from both countries.

26 October. At the Oqsaroy, President Islam Karimov meets with Abdullah Bin Hamad Al-Attiyah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy and Industry of Qatar.

2 November. At the Oqsaroy, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov meets with Prime Minister of the Republic of Estonia Andrus Ansip.

15 November. President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov meets with European Union officials headed by Andris Piebalgs, Commissioner for Development, at the Oqsaroy.

23-34 November.  President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov pays official visit to the State of Qatar at the invitation of the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani. During the negotiations, the heads of state exchanged views on bilateral relations, expanding trade and economic relations, including transport and communications, humanitarian cooperation, as well as issues of regional and international significance of mutual interest. Following the talks, a whole package of documents is signed between the two countries.

2 December. At the Oqsaroy, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov meets with Hillary Clinton, Secretary of State of the United States of America.

10 December. President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov participates in Collective Security Treaty Organization’s Collective Security Council meeting and the Commonwealth of Independent States’ Heads of State Council session, in Russia’s Moscow. During the summit meetings, heads of member nations discuss cooperation issues with regard to bolstering security, countering such threats as international terrorism, extremism, drugs trafficking and transnational organized crime, and enhancing information security. The leaders also exchange views on the events in southern Kyrgyzstan that took place in June 2010.
